The last week has been rough. What has really got me boiling is the way that anti-war protesters have been taking it out on San Francisco.
San Francisco, probably the most tolerant city in the world, a city with an overwhelmingly anti-war stance, is being kicked in the balls by thousands of protesters, most of whom come from out of town. They are shutting down traffic, barring entrances to companies, and getting into altercations with police and citizens. I read that they were costing SF upwards of a half million dollars a day, and I only had to do some really simple math to see how that could be.
I'm angry as hell that my city is being punished by these people. Rally all you want, but don't take it out on the city.
It is at times like this that I miss New York. Our mayor (fucker though he could be) knew how to take control of the media and humiliate people behaving this way. Willie Brown has been almost silent.
